Josh
Captian
Josh joined the Area9 team as Captain and Instructor, bringing a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for diving. His journey began in the Virgin Islands as a dive guide and rescue diver, where he discovered his love for exploration and leading others underwater. Since then, he has continued to expand his skills, from guiding and rescue work to instructing divers at every level.
What excites Josh most is the challenge of exploring new, unseen dive sites and sharing those discoveries with students and fellow divers. At Area9, heβs especially enthusiastic about contributing to the exploration team and supporting projects that push the boundaries of discovery.
Recently, Josh became the proud owner of a JJ-CCR rebreather, marking the start of his technical CCR journey. This step allows him to dive deeper, stay longer, and further expand his role in advanced expeditions.
Whether teaching, captaining, or diving on his days off, Josh can usually be found underwater on doubles, a single tank, or his new CCR. His favorite dive memories are defined by the thrill of exploration and the joy of sharing those moments with others, a spirit he brings to every dive at Area9.
